Homemade Mini Projector

Homemade Mini Projector

                                                                   ABSTRACT

A projector is an electronic device used to project images. This can give the a greater teaching versatility and a better use of class time. This study deals on making a homemade mini projector. Since projector is very useful for the teachers yet quite expensive. The researchers proposed this idea to make a projector, however making it economically, instead of throwing those stuffs that we think no use at all. We are trying to recycle it to make a mini projector, based from the different trials we’ve made. We used cardboard as the base of the projector, and used different types of lights and the magnifying glass to observed how’s the sharpness of the projection. And to know the result of the trials we made. We try the product by using it with the kids, telling them a short story with the images from  the projector, As a results we observed that the children enjoy the story and they listen attentively.  We proved that homemade mini projector is very useful to teachers especially when teaching with the kids without spending too much money.

  1. Introduction
Projector or an image projector is an object that is used to project rays of light, An apparatus with a system of lenses for projecting slides or film onto screen, wall or other surface. From the evolution of the projection technology, America was the first who introduced the projection technology in 1950’s and it changed dramatically since that time, The projection Industry has come full circle. Today a multimedia  projectors brings back many of the features found on the Opaque projector, Slide projector, and overhead projector. Today most projectors used either an HDMI cable or VGA cable from a computer as their input source. Projectors  used in variety of different ways, This can be used at home to enjoyed as a home theatre due to the ability that this can project movies and a television programs onto a screen, much larger  than even the biggest television, Projectors comes in a variety of different shapes and sizes, Projectors are used in a variety  of ways in a variety of different environments. In the corporate world, Projectors are ideal for business presentation. Also very useful in schools for the same reasons. The evolution of technology is rapidly improved and  the sizes diminished, From the technology world  expecting  to see smaller, lighter projectors with the better resolution, and new performance as new technologies such as lasers, LEDs and electrode less lamps emerge.
With the use of projectors in the classroom, this can helps the students for easier note taking,Projectors release teachers from being bound to chalk and dry-erase boards to present information or images to the student, This also gives a better use of class time. Students also appreciate the use of projectors as they can prepare class projects and they can create into PowerPoint .
Projectors nowadays are quite expensive however it is important for easy presentation in offices and particularly at schools. The researchers is aiming to have an affordable and usable projector by using  the  recycled materials from home.

II.  Methodological Framework

This study utilized the use of recycled materials  that is specifically found at home such as  old cartoons, bulbs, magnifying glass, card boards and mirror. With this, the study aims to find out if there is  a difference in the students interest in listening attentively at class discussion. It is  also convenience to used in both teachers and students especially at  schools located  in rural areas commonly at provinces.
In this study, the children in different year levels were chosen  through randomized selection and  were examined by the researcher in which they are being  listen attentively throughout the story being told from story books compared the use of the homemade mini projector. The researcher give the posttest afterwards and finally found out that children are being engage at the discussion by looking at the illustration being projected at the mini projector.
Moreover, the researchers observed at the different kinds of bulbs, which help to determine by which of those  bulbs used  produced a sharp or concentrated light through walls.

III. Methodology

3.1 Site Description
The experiment was conducted at  42 Tabada, Mambaling Cebu City and 398-P Carlock St., Brgy. San Nicolas Cebu City. The place are lightly warm and less crowded.

3.2 Materials

Cartoon Scissor
Magnifying glass Scotch tape
Bulb Glue
Adaptor Glue gun
Stick glue Mirror
Cartolina Card board

3.3 Procedure

We start off with the brown box, and we're gonna make a square on one end of it. About nine inches or so and we're going to put a two rectangular box beside the open square for the diorama. This is where the image will project from with the us of acetate.
So now we got our projection box. Now on the bottom of the box cut a channel, and and this will let us put the light source in. Make a cardboard square which is  the same size with your box and draw a circle on it for your magnifying glass then cut the circle and this is where your magnifying glass will be put in. Afterwards put this square cardboard with a magnifying glass inside the box after the bulb.
Now that you’ve got the channel cut in the bottom, we're ready to project the image. That's where the acetate transparent plastic comes in. You want to cut them so you only have one panel of plastic. And then you put your image on here. You can draw it, or if you have a photo of something, you can put the photo underneath and trace it. Use a marker, depending upon how detailed, it can be a thin marker.

3.4 Research Design
This study involved experimental design with a quantitative analysis in order to determine the concentration of light and how big it will project according to its distance.
